MONTREAL — Bell Media’s French-language Noovo network (formerly V) today unveiled still images from the filming set for its new Quebec comedy series Contre-Offre (Counter Offer), which is scheduled to air on the channel in winter 2021.
Set in the world of real estate agencies, Contre-Offre (12 episodes x 30 minutes) stars Normand D’Amour, Marie-Soleil Dion, Emmanuelle Lussier-Martinez, Noémie O’Farrell, Antoine Vézina, Charlie Pierre, and Pierre-Yves Cardinal.
Head of the Lévesque family’s real estate agency, Alain (D’Amour), a broker for 35 years, is on the verge of professional exhaustion and relies on his daughters (Dion, Lussier-Martinez and O’Farrell) and his faithful accomplice Marcel (Vézina) for help with the business. Trying to survive in the competitive real estate market, this team of dysfunctional but endearing underdogs helps buyers and sellers of various properties find their happiness in the hectic real estate jungle, says Bell Media’s French-language press release. Above all, they try to compete with Marc Huard (Cardinal), the charming but powerful number one at the rival Intermax agency.
“We want to make an important place for original Quebec fiction in Noovo’s programming and we are particularly happy to see this project come to fruition,” said Sophie Parizeau, general manager of fiction and digital content for Bell Media in Quebec, in an English translation of the press release. “This comedy fits perfectly into Noovo’s DNA with its modern and unifying tone. Week after week, this quality series will make viewers laugh and touch them thanks to its unique and colourful characters, embodied by a brilliant cast. I am sure that this novelty will become a must-see television event.”
Based on an original idea by Marie-Chantal Nadeau and Benoit Finley, Contre-Offre is produced by Pixcom and directed primarily by Martin Roy, in collaboration with director Isabelle Garneau. Pierre-Louis Sanschagrin is the head writer and he is supported by a team of writers made up of Marie-Josée Ouellet, Martine Pagé, Kristine Metz and Julien Tapp. Executive producers are Nicola Merola, Charles Lafortune, Sylvie Desrochers and Jacquelin Bouchard.
