Fight Network strikes global TV deal with Canadian professional wrestling organization

TORONTO and HALIFAX – Fight Network has finalized a programming deal with independent Canadian professional wrestling organization WrestleCentre to air a weekly one-hour series in Canada, the U.S., and globally in over 30 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East

Based in Halifax, WrestleCentre is the largest professional wrestling promotion in Canada. Since 2014, events have featured international stars such as Ethan Carter III, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Jake Roberts, Colt Cabana, Matt Sydal and 2 Cold Scorpio, plus local favorites JP Simms, Matt Bullen, Speedball Mike Bailey, Jeremy Prophet, Chip Chambers, Richard Shinary and Tommy Starr.

Premiering on July 19, the weekly WrestleCentre Voltage series will air on Wednesday’s at 2:00 AM ET in Canada, a late-night expansion of Fight Network’s Tuesday professional wrestling block.

“We have sought out the best professional wrestling promotions from around the world to be featured on Fight Network, so it’s only fitting that a top Canadian organization has now found a broadcast home, not only across the country but all over the world, giving Canadian performers a platform to shine globally,” said Fight Network VP Chad Midgley, in the news release.

“WrestleCentre brings something different to the table with its Voltage TV show,” added WrestleCentre executive producer Jason Mosher.  “We put the storytelling back in professional wrestling all while showcasing the best in-ring talent from across Canada and beyond. We mix some of the best renown professional wrestlers in the world with some of the best independent wrestlers that Canada has to offer.”
