Feds launch mobile app commemorating War of 1812

OTTAWA – The federal government rolled out a new mobile application Thursday designed to encourage Canadians' participation in the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. The War of 1812 app, launched by Canadian Heritage and Official Languages minister James Moore, includes information about key battles, heroes, and related national historic sites. Other interactive features will be introduced in the lead up to the official start of the 200th anniversary of the War on June 18, 2012.
