Family Channel introduces gaming contest with its ten new titles

TORONTO – Family Channel has added ten new exclusive games to its website at www.family.ca, and is challenging children to an online game competition from April 4 to 28.

The gamer with the highest score will win an Ultimate Gaming Station, which includes a big screen TV, gaming chair and console. Also, the more players participate, the better chance there is of unlocking a new level of prizes, include DVDs, iTunes gift cards, iPod media players, cell phones and Xbox 360 consoles.

The new Game Off titles were actually launched at the beginning of the year, so that gamers could practice prior to the competition. The Game Off titles have been played more than a million times since then.

The ten games included in Game Off call on various skills, including mastering shooting rubber chickens (Bulls-eye), pogo-sticking through mazes (Switch) and memorizing tricky choreography while skydiving (High Dive).

Family Channel’s website features over 50 exclusive games, and its game page is its most popular.

“Kids love games and nowhere is that more apparent than on family.ca,” says Barbara Bailie, Astral Television Networks’ director of Interactive. “Game Off is a great way to reward our loyal users who can now share their competitive spirit with friends and win amazing prizes, but it is also a great way to get new users to visit the site and experience what family.ca has to offer.”

To participate in the contest, log on to www.family.ca/gameoff to have your score tracked between April 4 to April 28.
