Facebook and Canadian Press launch $1 million news fellowship
FACEBOOK AND THE Canadian Press announced today they are jointly launching the Facebook-Canadian Press News Fellowship, a one-year, $1-million program which will hire eight journalists to cover pressing issues in local communities across Canada. The year-long positions are open to anyone, recent journalism grads or otherwise, says a Facebook Canada blog post. The Canadian Press (CP) will review applications and select the eight fellows, and the Facebook Journalism Project (FJP) will fund their salaries and the costs of administering the program.
