FREDERICTON, NB – Dark fibre and optical networking services provider f6networks has been tapped by the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) to provide 100G Dedicated DWDM wavelength services between Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton, the highest capacity connectivity that GNB has ever tendered.

The company said that it will be deploying Ciena’s 6500 Packet-Optical Platform equipped with WaveLogic coherent technology, which will enable GNB to deliver innovative products and services to the civil service and New Brunswickians.

“As a New Brunswick based company, f6 is proud to be able offer the province of New Brunswick advanced 100G optical wave services with pricing that aligns with global commodity pricing not previously available in Atlantic Canada”, said chief technology officer Eric Morin, in the news release.  “f6 has deployed Ciena’s WaveLogic coherent technology into the core of its network and we are confident that it’s the right fit to provide these mission critical and high capacity services to GNB.”
