Expert participants revealed for next week’s ‘En Route to the Discoverability Summit’ events

OTTAWA – With its two Discoverability Summit pre-events set for next week, the CRTC has unveiled the expert participants tapped for the ‘En route to the Discoverability Summit’ confabs in Vancouver and Montreal.

The event in Vancouver, scheduled for December 1st at The Chan Centre for Performing Arts from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, will be moderated by CBC Radio Spark host and creator Nora Young, and feature Tony Chapman, founder and CEO of Tony Chapman Reactions, as the keynote speaker. 

Discussions will focus on English-language markets, and expert participants include Sara Diamond, President and Vice-Chancellor, OCAD University; Ashkan Karbasfrooshan, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, WatchMojo; Moyra Rodger, Founder and CEO, Magnify Digital and Out To See Entertainment Inc.; Tessa Sproule, CEO and co-founder, Vubble; Ling Lin, Head of YouTube Content Partnerships, Canada; and Nathan Wiszniak, Label Relations, Spotify Canada.

The second event in Montreal will be held December 3 at the Phi Centre from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.  With a focus on French-language markets, the event will be moderated by Matthieu Dugal, host and columnist on Ici Radio-Canada Première and TV5 Monde, and feature Pascal Lechevallier, CEO of What’s Hot, a new media consulting firm, as the keynote speaker.

Expert participants include Sylvain Lafrance, Adjunct Professor, HEC Montréal; Christine Thoër, Associate Professor in the Department of Public and Social Communication at Université du Quebec in Montreal, UQAM; Jean-François Gagnon, President and founder, LVL; Wale Gbadamosi-Oyekanmi, CEO and Creation Director, Darewin; Suzanne Lortie, Professor, Director of the communication program (cultural and media production strategies) at UQAM's École des medias; and Michèle Savard, Senior Vice President, Carat.

Both events will be live streamed, and can be viewed at www.discoverability.ca or on the CRTC's YouTube channel.
