Execulink completes $2.1-million broadband project in Norfolk County

NORFOLK COUNTY — The government of Ontario and Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) announced today ISP Execulink Telecom has completed construction of a fibre-to-the-home network to bring improved broadband service to more than 900 homes and businesses in the communities of Turkey Point and Normandale in Norfolk County.

Through SWIFT, almost $1.4 million in federal and provincial funding ($690,000 from each level of government) was awarded to Execulink Telecom to deploy more than 32 kms of fibre-optic cabling to increase access to high-speed Internet service within the county. The total value of the project was $2.1 million. (Execulink was awarded the contract in January 2020.)

Starting in Turkey Point last November, Execulink began bringing customers online in a phased approach. The fibre network is now fully operational and providing Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) to residents living within the project area, says SWIFT’s press release.
