Execulink awards $500 scholarships to three Ontario students

WOODSTOCK, Ont. — Independent telecom provider and ISP Execulink Telecom announced today it has awarded $500 scholarships to three southern Ontario students to help them with their post-secondary education.

Recently graduated from high school, the three students are attending college or university this fall. This year’s scholarship recipients are Ruth Meyer (pictured, left) of Waterloo, Alissa van Gaalen (top right) of Mt. Brydges, and Eric McFarlane (bottom right) of Norwich.

“At Execulink, we believe in the power of education and endeavour to support young, promising minds on their journeys to post-secondary learning,” said Ian Stevens, president and CEO of Execulink Telecom, in the company’s press release. “Math and science are the backbone of technological advancement and pave the way for innovation and creativity; we are proud to recognize three students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in mathematics and sciences as well as community involvement.”

According to Statistics Canada data, Canadian students enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs pay $6,463 per year on average in tuition fees.

“We hope that the 2020 Execulink Scholarships help ease some of the concerns these students are facing when starting their first year at their chosen post-secondary institutions,” added Andrea Atkinson, Execulink’s vice-president of customer experience. “Pursuing higher education is an adventure and we commend these young folks for continuing to chase their dreams.”

Each year, the Execulink Scholarship program provides one-time $500 scholarships to three graduating high school students. Applications for 2021 will open next summer. Please click here for more information.
