REGINA – In true community spirit, Access Communications’ Access7 will air a two-hour program on the recent visit of His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex to Regina and Moose Jaw.
In light of HRH The Earl of Wessex’s recent visit and his presence at the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Awards recognizing youth community involvement, the 100% Saskatchewan-owned non-profit co-operative will air the program throughout the province on its community channel, Access7, in each of its 31 communities.
Expect to see broadcaster and Programming Manager for the cable co-operative, Gursh Madhur, interview the youngest child and third son of Queen Elizabeth II. Viewers across the province will also see highlights from the Duke of Edinburgh Awards event held in Regina recently.
"We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to spend some time with His Royal Highness and to learn more about his passion for promoting opportunities for youth in our community through initiatives like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards," says Madhur.
As one of the world’s most prestigious youth programs, the award encourages personal growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility and service to the community. Some 30,000 youth participate in the award each year in Canada.
