Evanov Communications on Monday announced its Toronto area radio station Z103.5 will launch a refreshed morning show, The Z Morning Zoo with Mel and Ronnie, on Monday, Jan. 12.
Airing weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET, the new show will be led by long-time Z103.5 morning personality Melanie Martin alongside veteran programmer and on-air talent Ronnie Stanton, who joined Evanov in October as a senior brand manager.
“The concept of the program is simple, ‘wake up to fun’ — reflecting Z103.5’s commitment to being the GTA’s go-to station from the moment the alarm goes off,” reads an Evanov Communications press release.
The show’s programming will feature high-energy dance and hit music, listener interaction, contests and prizes, topical conversation, and “the spontaneous fun that has defined Z103.5’s unique place in the Toronto radio market,” according to Evanov’s press release.
“I’m beyond excited to wake up the GTA with the fabulous Mel!” Stanton said in a statement. “Z103.5 has deep roots and a proud history, and we’re going to honour those traditions that our loyal audience loves while bringing fresh energy and new twists to the mix. With dance music, prizes, and a bunch of fun — The Z Morning Zoo will add more spark to weekday mornings. Who needs coffee!”

The Z Morning Zoo with Mel and Ronnie will be heard across the Greater Toronto Area on Z103.5 and via streaming on all station platforms, including the Z103.5 website and mobile listening options.
