LYON, FR – Multilingual news media service Euronews is overhauling its content delivery process to offer 12 distinct cross platform editions in an effort to meet the changing demands of consumers.

The service is dropping its multiplex signal this month, and said that the different editions will provide tailored content making it “the first truly gloCal international news offer”.

“This transformation aims to reinforce its commitment to a European perspective on global affairs and fully realise Euronews 'All Views' editorial philosophy”, reads the company’s news release.  “In response to a world of infobesity, Euronews strong belief is to empower audiences to forge their own opinion, by delivering all perspectives on stories.”

According to a spokesperson, Euronews has begun the IP distribution with Canadian operators, offering them the choice to select between 10 linear editions, including Euronews English and Euronews French.  The Arabic and Persian editions are digital only at present.  Euronews will remain Galaxy 23 satellite until mid-2018 but only in English.

“Thanks to a substantial investment in Euronews core capabilities and operations, we are creating a robust, agile and innovative organisation to become the first Glocal News brand by reinventing our approach to broadcast journalism from production to distribution”, said CEO Michael Peters, in the release.  “With our vision of acting 360°, encompassing digital and TV, we will be deeper, faster and more video-centric, generating adapted content and format across platforms that make sense to specific audience via customized market strategy.”
