
TORONTO — Next Monday, Global TV will air a half-hour primetime fundraising special, ET Canada Presents: Help India, in support of the Humanitarian Coalition’s emergency response efforts as India continues to battle the country’s worst Covid-19 crisis.
Airing Monday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Global, the special will feature in-depth interviews and passionate discussions with Canadian celebrities, many of whom are personally impacted by India’s Covid-19 crisis, alongside an all-star lineup of allies showing their support during this devastating time.
The special will open with ET Canada entertainment reporter Sangita Patel interviewing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about the global pandemic and how Canadians can lend their support. The broadcast will also include interviews with comedian Russell Peters, actress Mindy Kaling, Canadian actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever), musician and actor Nick Jonas, Canadian actor Rizwan Manji (Schitt’s Creek), Indian film star Abhishek Bachchan, Canadian actress Sandy Sidhu (Nurses), television personality Anisha Ramakrishna (Family Karma), Toronto Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia, Canadian actress Lisa Ray, Canadian entrepreneur and author Arlene Dickinson (Dragons’ Den), bestselling author Jay Shetty and plant-based recipe developer and fitness enthusiast Radhi Devlukia-Shetty.
Other celebrities participating include LL Cool J (NCIS: Los Angeles), Archie Panjabi (Departure, The Good Wife), Victor Garber and Jewel Staite (Family Law), and Arisa Cox (Big Brother Canada).
“All proceeds raised during ET Canada Presents: Help India will go towards supporting India’s healthcare system with oxygen, ventilators and medication, promoting Covid-19 vaccinations and safe hygiene practices, ensuring food security and basic survival for vulnerable families, and much more,” reads the press release from Corus Entertainment’s Global TV.
