MONTREAL – Network and cloud-neutral data centre solutions provider eStruxture is expanding its Vancouver data center in an effort to better meet the needs of "Hollywood North".
The company said Tuesday that its VAN-1 facility, located in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood, is currently the only high-power density colocation facility in the city. The data centre is capable of supporting up to 30kW per cabinet, and offers “significant” capacity options for enterprise, media, and entertainment customers.
The expansion will include a 1MW power upgrade, enhancements in physical security, and will almost double the available cabinet space. The additional white space is tailored for high density workloads typically used by film animation rendering server farms, as well as image processing tools common in the visual effects community.
“As a leading data center market in Canada, Vancouver serves as a powerful hub for enterprises to grow and house their mission-critical infrastructure”, said president and CEO Todd Coleman, in the news release. “For the media and entertainment industry in particular, we see huge opportunity and are proud to be the data center of choice for many post-production and visual effects studios across the city."
The company also announced the addition of colocation veteran Andrew Fowler who will lead sales in Western Canada.
"Andrew is a telecom and data center industry veteran with a broad range of sales and business development experience”, added Coleman. “This new hire further emphasizes our clear strategic direction to strengthen customer relationships and expand our reach."
