Ericsson to host grand opening for its new Ottawa R&D lab


OTTAWA – On Thursday, Ericsson will officially cut the ribbon on its new state-of the-art research and development facility, a 240,000 square meter space in Ottawa.

The event will showcase Ericsson's Radio Access technology development, global LTE and next generation technologies and will serve as a center of excellence for Ericsson's heterogeneous network solutions, according to the invitation which will host Tony Clement, P.C., M.P., President of the Treasury Board; Eric Hoskins, M.P.P., Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Employment; Jim Watson, Mayor of Ottawa; Kenneth Macartney Ambassador of Canada to the Kingdom of Sweden; Teppo Tauriainen, Ambassador of Sweden to Canada; Hans Vestberg, President and CEO, Ericsson; Angel Ruiz, President, Ericsson North America; and Mark Henderson, President, Ericsson Canada

The event runs from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the centre’s site at 349 Terry Fox Drive.
