Ericsson rebrands broadcast, media services; launches new global advertising solution

STOCKHOLM – Ericsson has renamed its broadcast and media services business as Red Bee Media and has spun it off as an independent business that it fully owns.

Headquartered in the UK, Red Bee Media has operations in the U.S., Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the UK and United Arab Emirates.  Its services span media management, playout, OTT, access services, content discovery and creative services and sports graphics as well as analysis solutions.

Ericsson first entered into the media services business in 2007 and subsequently grew the business both organically and through acquisitions, including Red Bee Media in 2014.  More information about Red Bee Media is available here.

In other company news, Ericsson has launched a new data management and advertising solution known as Ericsson Emodo that provides high-quality audiences at scale to advertisers, brands and publishers.

With more than 1.3 billion user profiles in its data management platform, Ericsson Emodo allows advertisers to leverage their existing workflows and reach out to audiences in an efficient, privacy-compliant manner while creating a positive user experience, reads the news release.  The solution harnesses the power of Ericsson’s customer base of global network operators to create a secure, anonymized, privacy-by-design database of carrier-derived data enhanced with other quality datasets.
