Ericsson launches 5G RAN slicing solution


STOCKHOLM — Ericsson today announced commercial availability of its 5G RAN Slicing, which the company says will enable communications service providers to deliver customized 5G services with guaranteed performance. The new software solution allocates radio resources at 1 millisecond scheduling and supports multi-dimensional service differentiation handling across slices, says Ericsson’s press release. “Network slicing supports multiple logical networks for different service types over one common infrastructure.
