Ericsson, federal government partner on R&D for future wireless technologies

OTTAWA -- Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson and the federal government announced Monday a five-year research and development partnership worth $470 million to develop key wireless technologies, including 5G and 6G. The investment will be at the company's Ottawa, Ontario and Montreal facilities and will put Canada among "global leaders in 5G Advanced, 6G, AI, Cloud , and Core Network technologies," a press release said.
