eqhd brings TEDTalks to Canadian TV

TORONTO – Some of the world’s most creative thinkers will appear on eqhd after the channel finalized a partnership with TEDTalks.

TEDTalks are short, inspired presentations from scientists, philosophers, musicians, religious leaders, philanthropists and other interesting people who have thoughtful, imaginative things to say.  Past presenters include Bill Gates, Frank Gehry, Jane Goodall, Quincy Jones, Al Gore, Billy Graham and Bono.

While the presentations have been available on-line since 2006, the partnership between eqhd and TEDTalks marks the first time that they will air on mainstream television in full HD.

“eqhd’s slogan is ‘it’s smart in here’, and the TEDTalks are perhaps the quintessential fit for that mandate”, said eqhd partner and co-founder, John Panikkar, in the announcement.  "It complements our mission to provide our viewers with programming that celebrates ideas, perspectives and ways of life around the world.”

eqhd is a commercial-free HD servcie operated by High Fidelity HDTV Inc.
