TORONTO – Chris Bell’s promotion to VP of development, scripted programming at Entertainment One (eOne) is one of a series of promotions and new hires announced this week in the company’s Canadian-based scripted programming team.

Other moves include the promotion of Andrew Kelly to director of development, and new hires Darren Giblin as director of current programming, and Isabel Gomez-Moriana as director of development. Following a decade-long tenure at eOne as VP of development, Rachel Fulford is departing to set up a full-time practice as a psychotherapist.

The dedicated, partner-focused team will leverage the Canadian and international experience of its newly positioned team members as it continues to build on its recent success developing Canadian series, including Mary Kills People (with Cameron Pictures Inc), Private Eyes (with Piller Segan), and Burden of Truth (with ICF Films), reads the company’s news release.  The Canadian-based scripted programming team plays a key role, working alongside eOne’s other English-language programming hubs at eOne and Canadian producing partners to create content that will resonate with global audiences.

“This is a time of transition for the Canadian industry – and if Canadian content is going to compete, it must be through great partnerships and the development of the best IP, which we continue to foster and shepherd into domestic and global successes,” said Jocelyn Hamilton, eOne Television’s president, Canada, in the release.  “Under the leadership of Tecca (Crosby) and with our incredible Scripted team, we are well positioned to be the partner of choice for writers and independent producers across the country.”

The Canadian scripted team is based in eOne’s Toronto office.  The appointments are effective immediately.
