Enghouse to acquire Espial in $56.5M deal

MARKHAM and OTTAWA - Enterprise software firm Enghouse Systems is buying Ottawa’s Espial Group in an all-cash deal valued at $56.5 million.Espial said that its client, server and cloud software products and system integration services help service providers launch next generation video offerings, and are used by over 100 video service providers and device manufacturers across Canada, the U.S., Europe and Asia, including Netflix, Amazon and Google.According to the news release, Espial's board has unanimously approved the deal and has recommended that shareholders accept the offer.  A special meeting of shareholders to consider the transaction will be held in May.The...
