MONTREAL — Quebecor Media subsidiary Videotron announced Wednesday that Élodie Girardin-Lajoie has been appointed as its new vice-president of corporate affairs.

Girardin-Lajoie first joined Videotron in 2010, and held a series of positions in the corporate affairs department before becoming head of the internal communications team in 2015. In every position she has held, Girardin-Lajoie has built relationships based on trust and proved a valuable ally to all of her co-workers, Videotron said in a news release announcing the appointment.

“Élodie has the ability to influence her colleagues and to unite them around common goals,” said Manon Brouillette, president and CEO of Videotron, in the news release. “With her 360-degree view of the industry and the trust she has earned from one and all, she is well equipped to make a vital contribution to our organization’s success. I am also very proud to see one of our people move up through the ranks.”

In her position as vice-president of corporate affairs, Girardin-Lajoie will be responsible for developing and implementing positioning and promotion strategies for Videotron and its partners. She will lead all of the communications teams and galvanize them to achieve Videotron’s ambitious goals and successfully carry out its corporate projects, the company said.

Before joining Videotron, Girardin-Lajoie worked as a political staffer, including four years as press secretary in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition in Quebec City. A native of Laterrière in Quebec’s Saguenay region, Girardin-Lajoie holds a Bachelor’s degree in public relations from Université Laval.
