
MONTREAL — Independent broadcaster Remstar Media today said the holiday programming on its Elle Fictions specialty channel has been a hit with viewers this year so far.
From November 30 to December 13, Elle Fictions recorded an AMA (in the 2+ category) of +5.8% compared to the same period last year, while the total of specialty channels in Quebec fell by 3.5%, according to Numeris PPM data cited by Remstar Media in an email to Cartt.ca.
During the same time period this year, Elle Fictions had an average audience of 65,000 viewers, according to Numeris. The channel also had an audience record of 150,000 viewers (2+) for the 8:45 p.m. film on December 5, A Christmas in Springdale, Remstar Media says. In 2019, the most popular movie garnered just over 110,000 people in 2+ during the same period, the company says.
Remstar Media notes the holiday programming on Elle Fictions will continue until early January, and Hallmark productions make up a large portion of its programming, which is popular with its viewers. Elle Fictions has an exclusive agreement with Hallmark in Quebec.
