
MONTREAL — Independent Quebec broadcaster Remstar Media announced today its specialty network Elle Fictions will premiere the documentary miniseries C’est cool d’aimer Céline Dion (It’s Cool to Love Céline Dion) starting Wednesday, Nov. 3.
Marking the first original documentary series for the channel, C’est cool d’aimer Céline Dion “explores the fascination millennials and Generation Z have with the internationally renowned singer, through the eyes of artists who admire her deeply,” reads a press release.
The series features more than 15 guest artists, specialists, experts and fans “sharing their perspective and analyses of the Céline Dion sensation inspiring millions of people around the globe,” the release says.
Contributors who discuss “how the star has shaped the socio-cultural universe in Quebec, and around the world” include sisters Magalie and Eugénie Lépine-Blondeau, Marie-Mai, Mathieu Dufour, Alicia Moffet, Jean-Philippe Dion, Isabelle Racicot, Sonia Benezra, Laurent Turcot and Eman.
“This new documentary miniseries evokes dreams, glamour and nostalgia: a perfect fit with Elle Fictions’ vision,” says Marie-Sylvie Lefebvre, senior director of content and programming, in the release.
“The show promises to charm and captivate subscribers, with beloved personalities examining the ‘Céline Dion’ phenomenon from different angles.”
The series is directed by Marc-Andre Chabot (Le Poing J, Un an avec Céline and L’enfer c’est nous autres) and produced by Zone3, with funding from the Canada Media Fund.
Four 30-minute episodes will air Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET. A special episode with highlights and never-before-seen footage is also in the works and is scheduled to air in 2022, according to the press release.
