EDMONTON – CTV Edmonton begins broadcasting its local newscasts in 1080i high definition on Monday, October 1. The newscasts include: CTV Morning Live, CTV News at Noon, CTV News at Five, 5:30, and six, and CTV News at 11:30.
“This is perhaps the most significant technological advancement since we started producing local programs in colour in 1970,” said Brad Hooper, Manager of Operations and Engineering, CTV Edmonton in a news release. “We’re transforming our building with entirely new technology, linked together with over 30 kilometers of new cabling.”
October 1 will mark the beginning of an exciting new era for CTV Edmonton said Lloyd Lewis, Vice-President and General Manager, CTV Edmonton.
“The immense capital investment, along with the many months of intense effort to make this transition, truly highlights our commitment to provide the best service possible to our viewers.”
