Edmonton’s 104.9 Virgin Radio getting new morning show

EDMONTON — In a press release issued today by Bell Media, iHeartRadio Canada announced a new morning show will air on 104.9 Virgin Radio Edmonton starting Monday, August 17.

Airing weekdays from 6 to 10 a.m. MT, the syndicated Brooke & Jeffrey program, hosted by Brooke Fox and Jeffrey Dubow (pictured), will replace the current local morning show which featured hosts David Cruise, Britt Jones and Katie Stanners.

The Premiere Networks-syndicated program is coming to 104.9 Virgin Radio Edmonton through a partnership with Canadian content syndication group Orbyt Media. The Brooke & Jeffrey program airs on more than 50 stations and features pop culture conversation, comedy skits and listener interaction, says the news release. Some of its popular segments include Awkward Tuesday Phone Call, Second Date Update and Watcha Doin’ at the Courthouse?

“We’re thrilled to be able to tell our Edmonton listeners that we’re part of the 104.9 Virgin Radio family,” said host Fox, in the release. “Rob Vavrek has already laid the groundwork for an amazing launch, and the professionalism from the entire team has really set us up for success. We can’t wait to bring the fun and funny to Edmonton’s mornings.”

“Brooke and Jeffrey have a proven track record of engaging and entertaining listeners, and endearing fans,” said Rob Vavrek, operations manager and group program director at Bell Media. “We can’t wait to give Edmonton a different kind of morning show which also happens to be one of the top radio shows in North America.”
