MINDEMOYA, ON — Eastlink said today that its Mindemoya fibre project has started connecting residents to high-speed internet.
“We’re very happy with our progress as we near completion of our fibre network build,” said Louigi Salvati, Eastlink director of sales and marketing for Ontario, in a press release today. “This improvement in connectivity will not only help strengthen the local economy but it will also help the community’s ability to retain and attract people who want to live and work here.”
The company said it is expecting to complete the project by this spring.
The company announced a progress update last summer, saying it was making “excellent progress” on the project, which is using money from the Innovation Canada’s Universal Broadband Fund.
