Eastlink launching wireless in Grande Prairie

GRANDE PRAIRIE – Eastlink today will launch its first wireless market outside of Canada’s east when it launches in the western Alberta city of Grande Prairie, today.Many readers may not realize that Eastlink is the incumbent cable/broadband provider in the city of 63,000 people, or that it purchased spectrum there in the 2500 MHz band in the 2015 auction. The company actually provides wireline service to over 60 western Canadian communities, but Grande Prairie is the only one where it has wireless spectrum. Its new LTE network will serve Grande Prairie as well as the town of Clairmont (pop. 2,100)...
