Eastlink, Ericsson extend partnership for 5G wireless expansion

HALIFAX – Eastlink and Ericsson are extending by three years their existing 10-year partnership to build out the telecom’s 5G mobile network. The extension is intended to accelerate the mobile network and 5G deployment. Eastlink said in a press release that the Swedish telecom equipment maker is preparing to supply the telecom with radios compatible with 3.5 GHz spectrum – a key spectrum band for 5G – and enhanced core network support for voice and data.
