HALIFAX – EastLink announced this morning it is adding 12 new high definition television channels to its roster.
While half of the channels are only available in select areas (details at eastlink.ca) the list of new channels are:
* The four High Fidelity HDTV channels of Oasis HD, Equator HD, Rush HD and Treasure HD.
* Discovery HD
* HDNet
* Fox West: HD Equivalent to Fox West
* NBC West: HD Equivalent to NBC West
* ABC West: HD Equivalent to ABC West
* CBS West: HD Equivalent to CBS West
EastLink will also launch Speed HD and an HD pay-per-view channel soon. Speed HD is the HD Equivalent to the Speed Channel and will be available as a free preview to all digital cable customers with an HD ready digital cable box for a limited time.
"It is an exciting time as customers are increasingly looking to experience all of EastLink’s expanded entertainment options including high definition and on demand programming,” said Ian Lezama, director of marketing, in the press release.
EastLink also said its new HD Extra Pak is coming soon and will provide the unique HD programming for $6.95 per month.
