East Coast Music Awards get national broadcast on Eastlink TV

HALIFAX – Canadian music fans from coast to coast can enjoy live coverage of the 25th annual East Coast Music Awards thanks to the event’s new title sponsor, Eastlink.

Eastlink will present the Chronicle Herald East Coast Music Awards Gala from Halifax on its local programming channel, Eastlink TV, this Sunday, March 10.

As part of a three-year deal with the East Coast Music Association, Eastlink will also showcase East Coast Music Week, March 6-10, live in HD, OnDemand and on Eastlink's new TV anywhere platform, Eastlink To Go. It will provide Atlantic Canadian coverage of daily shows, produced live from Eastlink's Spring Garden Road retail store in Halifax, including interviews with musicians, highlights from the week-long events and local concerts, and a sneak peek behind the scenes. A 13-part series showcasing the ECMAs is also being developed and will be televised throughout the year.

Eastlink TV Vice President Michael Smith says the company is honoured to help support the East Coast Music Association and local artists. “This is an excellent opportunity to help promote local East Coast musicians and those working in the music industry with national exposure on Eastlink TV,” said Smith. “We’re also excited to announce that we've been working collaboratively with Rogers TV to expand the viewing area further. As a result, they will be televising our live coverage of the gala in New Brunswick and Newfoundland.”

The Eastlink EMCAS airs March 10 at 8 pm (AST) live from the Cunard Centre in Halifax with hosts David Myles and Rose Cousins. This year’s gala will include performances by Ashley MacIsaac, Classified, Rich Aucoin and many more.
