NEW YORK – Dome Productions senior vice-president and general manager Mary Ellen Carlyle will be one of 10 inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame this December in New York.

“Each of this year’s inductees exemplifies the leadership, vision, and professionalism that make the sports-TV and -production community so important to the rest of the sports industry,” said Hall of Fame chairman Ken Aagaard, in a press release.

Carlyle (pictured) has been with Dome Productions for 30 years, first producing sports – and has been instrumental in a number of innovations, including the move to HD, UHD, 4K and the ability to host remote productions via control rooms instead of trucks, says the hall of fame release.

Today, as SVP/GM, Carlyle oversees administration, sales, and operations of Dome Productions, which is owned by Bell Media and Rogers Media. Dome operates a fleet of 18 TV production mobiles, 7 ‘B’ support units, one production/uplink truck and 3 KU uplink tractors. It also owns a full time cross-Canada and cross-border fibre network which is the backbone of the transmission services it offers.

Carlyle will enter the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame along with Steve Anderson, the late Bud Collins, Mike “Doc” Emrick, Bob Fishman, Jerry Gepner, Bob Ley, Roger Penske, Doug Wilson, and Ken Woo. Click here for the full release.

The event will take place December 17th at the New York Hilton Hotel in Manhattan.
