SILVER SPRING, Md. – Discovery Communications (U.S.) this week launched COSMEO, a new homework help tool specially engineered for North American families.

COSMEO is a digital library that includes interactive learning games and more than 30,000 video clips that are correlated to grade level and U.S. state curriculum standards. The interface allows kids from kindergarten through grade 12 across all 50 states to instantly reference video clips and other learning tools for any required assignment in all key subject areas.

COSMEO is built on Discovery’s unitedstreaming service, the most widely used educational video streaming resource for schools, reaching more than 70,000 schools and teaching more than 30 million students. The service has been scientifically proven to increase student achievement, says the company. COSMEO builds upon unitedstreaming’s proven technology and content and engages students in a way that makes learning fun.

It ain’t free, though. COSMEO is available for the introductory price of US$9.95 per month or US$99 per year after a free 30-day trial. The standard retail price of COSMEO is US$12.95 per month or US$129 per year.
