Discovery hires former CanWest producer as new in-house EP

TORONTO - Anne-Marie Varner has been hired as executive producer in-house programming at Discovery Channel. Varner assumes the role on Monday, September 19, 2005 said Paul Lewis, president and general manager.Varner will oversee all in-house productions, including Daily Planet, Discovery Channel’s flagship daily science magazine that explores the latest science behind the headlines and the unusual and accessible science of everyday life.
