DirecTV could offer 200-plus HD channels

THANKS TO the launch of its eleventh owned-and-operated satellite, DirecTV will have the capacity to deliver more than 200 national high-definition channels, according to a report on Multichannel News.The new satellite which launched Monday could boost DirecTV's HD capacity by 50% in the first half of 2010. In addition to adding more HD channels to its lineup, the US satellite TV provider will also be able to increase the number of local HD markets it can serve, and the movie selection available through its pay-per-view services.Click here to read the full report.
