TORONTO – DHX Television is rebranding three of its four kids channels this fall as part of a move to extend its Family Channel brand.
The Disney Junior preschool channels, which target kids aged 2-5 in English and French, will be rebranded as Family Jr. and Télémagino, respectively, while the Disney XD channel, aimed at kids 6-12, will be rebranded as CHRGD.
"Our rejuvenated brands will add even more energy, excitement and entertainment to our offering, delivering appealing and attention-grabbing content that is relevant to the interests and lifestyles of today's youth," said Joe Tedesco, DHX Television SVP and GM, in the news release. "Family Jr., Télémagino and CHRGD will meet the expectations viewers have for the Family Channel brand, debuting with fantastic new schedules that feature series with strong characters and stories. Our imagination-inspired preschool network celebrates popular and engaging characters and storylines with programming that younger viewers and their families will love, while a burst of spontaneous fun will greet our older viewers on CHRGD."
The new brands will be accompanied by full on demand and broadband offerings, continued the release.
