TORONTO — The Ontario district council of the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) has elected Annie Bradley the first female chair of its executive board.
DGC Ontario announced Tuesday Bradley was elected by members during the organization’s virtual annual general meeting on Saturday, August 8. She succeeds Alan Goluboff, who served as chair of DGC Ontario for the last decade.
“As chair of this organization, I will stand for empathic leadership that values accountability, transparency and inclusion,” said Bradley, in the news release. “We have uncharted waters ahead of us, including getting our industry back to work safely in the midst of a global pandemic and taking concrete action towards building a more diverse and inclusive membership. I believe deeply in the talent pool of our membership and I am humbled to be working with this board, staff and our community as the first chairwoman of the executive board of DGC Ontario.”
According to the news release, the virtual elections during DGC Ontario’s 2020 AGM resulted in expanded diversity and gender parity on the organization’s executive board. The elections raised the share of BIPOC members on the DGC Ontario board to 25% and also achieved gender parity, with female members now occupying 50% of board positions.
