Departure lined up for a second season


TORONTO – With season one of Departure about to debut on Global on October 8 (and on NBCU’s Peacock on September 17th), producer Shaftesbury announced today Archie Panjabi (above) and Christopher Plummer will return for season two

Departure is a Canada/Ireland co-production from Shaftesbury (Canada) and Deadpan Pictures (Ireland), in association with Corus Entertainment, Starlings Television and Red Arrow Studios International. The drama is directed by Canadian Screen award winner T.J. Scott (Orphan Black, Star Trek: Discovery), and created by Vincent Shiao.

Season two of Departure focuses on the tragic crash of a high-speed automated train – the Apollo – travelling from Toronto to Chicago. Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi) leads the investigation into an accident that leaves multiple deaths in its wake and a web of potential suspects.
