Dejero provides media uplink for Covid-19 mass vaccination site in California

WATERLOO and LOS ANGELES — Video and data transport specialist provider Dejero announced today its Dejero GateWay network aggregation device is being used to deliver connectivity to a Covid-19 mass vaccination site recently opened at California State University’s Los Angeles campus.

By aggregating diverse connectivity paths, the Dejero Gateway provided a reliable media communications uplink for key media and government representatives from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), explains Dejero’s press release.

“In an environment where cellular networks were heavily congested due to the thousands being vaccinated and the vast media presence, a Dejero GateWay network aggregation device, offering access to LTE networks as well as a Satcom link, was used to bypass the network congestion and ensure the delivery of critical coverage to media outlets,” reads the press release.

The GateWay device supported all media feeds for Cal OES and also delivered content to Cal OES’s social media platforms via its public information office.

“We are delighted to have been able to support Cal OES’s requirements to deliver the critical connectivity they needed at very short notice,” said Bogdan Frusina, founder of Dejero, in the release. “The Dejero GateWay is used to provide a media uplink, but also as the backbone of a local operational network at a vaccine site, or to help move data from system to system. It is a very versatile solution that is ideal for this type of congested environment.”
