TORONTO – Canadian Women in Communications and Wired Woman are combining to create an “uber-resource” for women in Canada’s communications and technology sectors.
The merging of the two nation-wide organizations under the CWC umbrella and brand will create a variety of new services, professional development programs and opportunities for its collective 3,000 plus members. The logistics of the process are expected to evolve over the next several months.
“CWC has always worked with other women’s organizations that are more closely focused on technology, and we’ve been able to meet our respective members’ needs without duplicating efforts,” said CWC president Stephanie MacKendrick, in the announcement. “This union is an entirely new and much bigger value proposition for both groups. It opens up a whole new range of possibilities for our collective mandate.”
“Both organizations bring unique and complementary advantages to the table and we are delighted to be joining forces with CWC”, added Wired Woman national president Carol Parnell. “By pooling our resources we can offer our combined membership a wealth of opportunities and added benefits.”
