TORONTO – For the third consecutive year, Canadian Women in Communications (CWC) and the Banff World Television Festival are offering the CWC/Banff World Television Festival Scholarship.
The scholarship enables one CWC member to attend the 2008 Banff World Television Festival June 8-11 and “be where great television is born.”
“By attending the Festival, the scholarship winner will broaden her knowledge of the television business and expand her industry network,” said CWC president Stephanie MacKendrick. “CWC is delighted to partner again with Banff to provide a career advancing opportunity for one CWC member.”
The CWC/Banff World Television Festival Scholarship includes registration at the 2008 Festival and $1,000 towards travel and accommodation. Part of the scholarship also includes having the scholarship winner detail her experiences at the Festival on a blog featured on the CWC website.
All CWC members in good standing are invited to apply, particularly those members whose careers would benefit from networking with and learning from television industry leaders. Preference will be given to those whose work is in television broadcasting or a closely related field, and to those who are at a mid to senior management level.
The submission deadline for applications is 5 p.m. (EDT), April 16th.
