Stanley brings more than a decade of experience leading not for profit organizations, most recently as co-founder and executive director of Canadian Women in Technology. Prior to that, Stanley held senior positions at the Ontario Centres of Excellence and Bell. “I am delighted to be joining CWC at such an exciting time in the organization’s history,” said Stanley in a statement. “As the communications and technology sectors continue to converge, my goal is to help CWC continue its significant work of recognizing and advancing women in communications and technology and to increase its coast to coast network of women empowered to lead Canada in the digital economy.”
The CWC also announced a new chair of the national board of directors, Janice McDonald, an award-winning serial entrepreneur, founding organizations CD Warehouse Inc., MyMusic and iStyle Originals. “For more than two decades, the CWC has been at the forefront of supporting and promoting women in the communications and technology sectors through mentorship, professional development, networking and advocacy,” said McDonald. “I look forward to building on the great foundation that has been developed and ensuring we continue to help women realize their full career potential.”
