Customers can DIY with Vonage’s V-Portal

MISSISSAUGA – Digital phone provider Vonage Canada on Monday unveiled V-Portal, a digital voice adapter and single port router with a built-in liquid crystal display that allows consumers to better self-install VoIP phones and manage calls.

The device helps with installation, basic troubleshooting and has easy-to-use features. The V-Portal also has an integrated LCD screen that provides real-time feedback and error messaging that allows users to troubleshoot basic issues.

The screen can also be used for Caller ID, timing calls, call logging, easy access to Vonage service numbers, and for displaying the date and time.

“With the V-Portal, we are starting a trend of making innovative Vonage-branded products relevant and responsive to the way our customers communicate,” said Bruce Robertson, director of product marketing at Vonage Digital Voice. “The V-Portal expands upon what customers typically expect from a router, and is the closest thing to having a customer care agent with them in their home.”

Vonage vice-president of marketing and business development Joe Parent added, “At Vonage, we are dedicated to delivering new solutions like the V-Portal that empower the consumer. If we continue to take the additional features VoIP provides and make them consumer friendly, we will compel consumers to migrate to VoIP for the many features in addition to the cost.”

The V-Portal is now available to new customers through http://www.vonage.ca for $79.99, but a $70 instant rebate reduces the price to $9.99.
