
TORONTO – Cue Digital Media has expanded its content and sales team with three senior appointments, including Jake Labow as its VP of content.
Susan Courtney was named director, news & business, national sales and Alison Demelis becomes director, women’s group, national sales.
“With the recent addition of some major new partnerships, we needed to expand our team with dynamic content creators and proven sales leaders who could fully engage advertisers across our platforms,” said CEO and founder David U.K., in the announcement. “We have also created dedicated verticals – Sports & Entertainment, News & Business and a new Women’s Group – to give the industry easy access to our in-house sales experts.”
Labow (pictured) brings 10+ years working in a variety of senior production roles for major media companies across North America including Bell Media and Brillstein Entertainment Partners LLC in Beverly Hills. In his new role, he will oversee Cue’s original content strategy to ensure partners are fully leveraging new opportunities across the company’s premium platforms.
Courtney joins Cue as the new head of sales for the company’s expanded News & Business vertical. She will manage day-to-day relationships with advertising agencies and clients to ensure extensive access to Cue’s premium news and business platforms that include Business Insider, CNN, Vox and MailOnline. Prior to this, Courtney held a variety of senior roles for media and advertising companies including Quebecor, Starcom Mediavest Group, TorStar and Cossette.
As head of national sales for Cue’s Women’s Group, Demelis will manage its slate of female skewing inventory that includes Us Weekly, MailOnline, Bustle and Thought Catalog. She comes to Cue from Bell Media where she was a group manager, and has also held senior sales roles at Astral Media, Standard Radio and Golf Canada.
