CTV’s summer schedule includes Ultimate Tag


TORONTO — CTV unveiled Monday its summer lineup of returning and new series, including the new physical competition series Ultimate Tag, which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning May 20.

Co-hosted by NFL superstar sibling trio JJ, TJ and Derek Watt, Ultimate Tag is based on the classic playground game.

In addition, CTV announced the world broadcast network TV premiere of the Crave Original feature documentary Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band, which will air Sunday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV. The documentary was executive produced by Martin Scorsese, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, among others.

Some of the shows returning to the CTV schedule this summer include the hit dance competition series World of Dance (May 26), with Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and NE-YO, and the celebrity-filled game show Match Game (June 7), hosted by Alec Baldwin.

The fifth and final season of Blindspot is currently airing Thursdays on CTV, and the seventh and final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will anchor Wednesday nights starting May 27. CTV will also present a movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe each week, on Sundays at 7 p.m. ET/PT, beginning June 7.

Plus, CTV and the WE charitable organization will honour graduates and educators across Canada with the previously announced event special WE Celebrate: Class of 2020 on June 6.

“The first wave of our summer programming kicks off a strategic schedule with new content landing Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays,” said Mike Cosentino, president of content and programming at Bell Media, in the news release. “Key summer franchise programming will bridge our schedule into fall to ensure CTV remains the home of can’t-miss television, night after night.”
