TORONTO — Bell Media’s CTV announced today it will present the one-hour primetime special Celebrating Greatness: Canada’s Walk of Fame 2021 on Friday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
The event “honours exceptional Canadians with distinctive accomplishments in philanthropy, advocacy, and contributions towards the greater good,” explains a press release.
Actor and 2010 inductee Eric McCormack and Etalk’s Traci Melchor are co-hosting the special, which is being presented this year in a new format produced by Bell Media Studios.
“The special takes Canadians directly to the inductees and honourees, joining them at home, on-set, and at work, as they accept their introduction to Canada’s Walk of Fame’s prestigious ranks,” the release says.
McCormack and Melchor will anchor the broadcast from Vancouver, while award presenters will be in locations around the world including Sweden, Quebec City, Los Angeles and New York.
The line-up of presenters and inductees includes:
- Carrie-Anne Moss presents to her Matrix co-star Keanu Reeves (above)
- 2003 inductee Robbie Robertson presents to iconic actor Graham Greene
- Luther Brown and Kardinal Offishall present to R&B artist Jully Black

The broadcast will also feature 2012 inductee Sarah McLachlan presenting the Allan Slaight Music Impact Honour to platinum-selling recording artist Serena Ryder, who will perform River of Tears with Canadian singer-songwriter William Prince.
In addition, Olympic gold medalist Mikaël Kingsbury will present the inaugural National Hero Honour to NFL Super Bowl LIV winner Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who put his football career on hold temporarily to join the Covid-19 pandemic support efforts last year.
“Canada’s Walk of Fame celebrates the best in Canadian excellence and we are excited to be able to highlight this year’s incredible inductees and honourees in an all-new primetime special,” said Justin Stockman, vice-president of content development and programming at Bell Media, in the press release.
“This new format allows us to continue our commitment to supporting Canadian talent, while bringing this entertaining and star-studded event to viewers across the country.”
Celebrating Greatness: Canada’s Walk of Fame 2021 airs Friday at 8 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV.ca and the CTV app. It will also be available to stream on Bell Media’s Crave starting Saturday, Dec. 18.
