CTV reveals 2024 midseason premiere dates


Bell Media’s CTV confirmed Monday the midseason premiere dates for its lineup of primetime shows, featuring new and returning scripted and unscripted series, including CTV Originals.

CTV will deliver the Canadian television debut of Hulu comedy-mystery series Only Murders in the Building, starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, airing three episodes of the first season nightly on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Jan. 2.

CTV Original crime drama Sight Unseen, starring newcomer Dolly Lewis alongside Agam Darshi (DMZ), Jarod Joseph (The 100) and Daniel Gillies (Virgin River), will debut with a special preview Sunday, Jan. 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT following the NFL divisional game. The 10-part series will then start airing in its regular timeslot, Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Jan. 22.

The new CBS drama series Tracker, starring and executive produced by Justin Hartley (This Is Us), will premiere on CTV in the coveted post-Super Bowl timeslot, Sunday, Feb. 11 at approximately 10 p.m. ET/PT, before settling into its regular timeslot on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Scripted series returning to CTV in January include Night Court (season 2), airing Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning Jan. 2, Magnum P.I. (final two episodes) on Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and Canadian Screen Award-winning CTV Original Transplant (final three episodes) starting on Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Sci-fi drama La Brea (third and final season) will return to CTV2 Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Jan. 9.

Among the shows returning to CTV in February are The Conners (Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT), Not Dead Yet (Feb. 7 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT), Bob Hearts Abishola (Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT), Young Sheldon (Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT), Blue Bloods (Feb. 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT), Will Trent (Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT), The Rookie (Feb. 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT), and The Good Doctor (Feb. 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT).

Crime drama The Cleaning Lady returns for a new season on CTV2 beginning March 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and Grey’s Anatomy returns to CTV for its 20th season starting March 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

CTV’s unscripted series lineup includes the new series America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League, which will air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning Jan. 1. Similar to a fantasy sports draft, the new spin on the AGT franchise pits judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B against each other to determine who can put together the best lineup of returning fan-favourite AGT acts from around the world.

Returning unscripted series include Celebrity Jeopardy! (Jan. 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT), CTV Original pop culture quiz show Battle of the Generations (January premiere date not announced), The Voice (Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT), The Masked Singer (March 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT), and The Amazing Race (March 13 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT).

New episodes of investigative series W5, hosted by Avery Haines, will continue in the show’s regular timeslot, Saturdays at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, beginning Jan. 27.
