TORONTO – Comedian Brent Butt will be helming a new half-hour comedy pilot, called Hiccups, for CTV that will feature his Corner Gas co-star Nancy Robertson.
He moves behind the scenes as director of this latest project, which begins shooting in Vancouver next month.
Robertson, who plans Wanda in Corner Gas, takes on the role of Millie Upton, a children’s actor.
After becoming convinced that she needs help controlling her rage, she turns to her coach Stan.
“There’s no rest for the hilarious,” said Susanne Boyce, president of Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “We wanted to make sure Brent got right back to work. Fan-favourite Nancy Robertson promises to sparkle as Millie Upton. We can’t wait to see what these two come up with.”
The pilot for Hiccups is produced by Sparrow Media in association with CTV and The Comedy Network. Butt is creator, writer, show runner and executive producer.
Executive producers are Laura Lightbown (DaVinci’s Inquest, Intelligence) and David Storey (Corner Gas). Storey also directs the pilot.
