TORONTO – CTV News said Tuesday that it is teaming up with Facebook to offer viewers “an added layer of insight” throughout the federal election campaign.
In addition to reporting Facebook insights, CTV News said that it also has first access to Facebook experts throughout the campaign and exclusively during election night coverage.
"The connection among people on Facebook is strong and their engagement and discourse adds a whole new dimension to coverage we’ve never accessed before," said CTV News president Wendy Freeman, in the news release. "This is a unique opportunity to combine the country’s leaders in news and social engagement to offer insight into what matters to Canadians throughout the campaign."
“Facebook is a place where people go to discover what matters to them, and politics is no exception,” added Facebook Canada’s head of public policy, Kevin Chan. “With 20 million Canadians active on Facebook each month, the political conversation on the platform is both authentic and wide-ranging and we look forward to sharing interesting insights about the issues that matter to Canadians with CTV viewers.”
