TORONTO – Saying it's too much work for too little payoff, CTV News has decided to pull out of the Gemini Awards, reports Canadian Press. In a letter to the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, CTV News head Robert Hurst said the decision only affects the network news division of the company. CTV News won several Geminis last year and Hurst said the division is still committed to other awards programs like the Radio-Television News Directors Association.
